RECIPE FOR DOG FOOD

This Recipe is for a raw meat diet.

This is for 1 month of food for a dog weighing 65lbs. To 75lbs.I use this successfully for my dog however I am not an animal nutritional expert. My recipe was created after much research and trial and error. For more recipes for raw food diets please go to the barf diet (bones and raw food) web site.

9lbs of raw meat - Chicken, Beef, Lamb, Or Turkey or any healthy animal that is not feed antibiotics or hormones.

1 tlbs. of bone meal per 3 lbs of meat. I use Solid Gold Bone Meal. It is organic and claims to be 99% free of toxic metals

1 tlbs. gelatin or 1 pkg. per 3lbs. of meat

1 tablet vitamin B 50mg. crushed into powder per 3lbs. of meat

1 tsp. Dulse or kelp per 3lbs. meat

1 tablet vitamin C 500 mg. per 3lbs. of meat

One 400 mg Vitamin E per 3 lbs. of meat (mixed tocopherols are best for Dogs)

1 Liver & Heart if possible. per 3lbs. of meat. Livers can be purchased in a butcher or grocery store. I get my chicken livers and hearts from a poultry slaughter house.

1 egg yolk per 3 lbs. of meat.( Dogs can't have raw egg whites!)

2 tlbs. of flax seed oil, & 2 tlbs. of Natures Logic Sardine Oil. or 3tlbs of Natures Logic Sardine Oil only.

Juice or puree a variety of vegetables, (If you juice save pulp). I use broccoli, parsley, celery, sweet potato, zucchini squash, green peppers, green beans, fresh ginger (apx. 1 inch), 1-2 cloves garlic, kale, etc. Make a large bowl full to add to the meat.I juice to avoid using water and juicing is very nutritious. If you juice use the extracted pulp also.

Mix all of this together and put into containers equaling one cup each. I use ice cube trays and give 1/2 tray in AM and a raw chicken leg and wing in the PM. If you give 1 cup in AM and PM it will only last 2 wks.

If you are ambitious you can purchase a grinder and ground up whole chickens or turkeys which is more nutritious and don't add the bone meal or gelatin. This is the most ideal and healthy way to do it. This grinder is available on my site.
